Our Commitment to Serve our Community
St James has been part of the Leith community for more than 300 years, and never more so than today! We use our building, giving free or generous charitable rates, as the starting point to form partnerships with groups who strive to make a positive impact on the most vulnerable and needy people in Leith, through a range of inclusive and diverse initiatives. Some of our members work within these groups. Key projects and partnerships that exemplify our work:

The Wider World
In addition to our direct work with the Leith Community, we give 10% of our annual income to support other charities - those providing humanitarian support across the world, and local charities such as The Cyrenians and the Bethany Trust who work with and support homeless people. In 2024 our giving these charities was around £7,000
