We have gained lots of experience in blended digital church and hope you will join us either in the building or online
(The service is usually recorded for private - not public- sharing via a private, time-limited web link for disabled members)
You can read our full Streaming Services GDPR and privacy policy here.
There will be a moment of quiet at the start of the service during which a candle is lit. You are invited to light a candle at home as a symbolic way of showing that we’re connected together in the light of Christ, recognising that this special meeting of our community is happening not just in the church hall but in the rooms and homes of folks participating online
You might also like to have some bread ready to break and share with everyone by breaking it in view of the camera.

A contemplative service held at 7pm, on the second Sunday of the month
A quiet, communal space to just be.
A time to let go of to do lists, anxieties, and pre-occupations, and to rest in the silence, music and stillness provided.
An opportunity to still our minds and receive from a deeper place – to get in touch with ourselves and the Divine, to hear from that still small voice that resides in us, and to RE-engage with what is important and life-giving.
St James, 11 John’s Place, Leith, EH6 7EL
In the back prayer room
"Centering Prayer is a simple method of meditation rooted in the Christian contemplative tradition which can be practiced by anyone looking to deepen their faith".
A weekly gathering for prayer and healing
Followed by refreshments
In a three-way partnership between Safer by Sound, Inspiring Leith, and St. James, The Well gathers musicians, poets, storytellers, and dancers to find grace and healing at a monthly dry open-mic night. Many of us are either in addiction recovery of some kind and/or struggling with neuro-diversity issues. Testimonies abound of folks who arrive uncertain, anxious, and fearful only to leave uplifted and triumphant.
There’s nothing quite like a live performance in a mutually engaging atmosphere to bring transformative encouragement to someone struggling. The spirit of the room is one of festive laughter and abundant support for fellow performers.
Song, poetry, spoken word, instrumentals of every kind, interpretive dance - sometimes deeply introspective, sometimes riotously funny - it is always well worth the time.
